Our party of 5 had brunch here on a Sunday morning. I felt the tables were placed too close together for comfort. I’m sure they’re trying to pack as many people in as possible as people equate to profits. The noise level correlated to the overcrowded dining area and had an overall negative impact on my enjoyment of our brunch. The food was decent but felt like they were trying too hard to have unique dishes. I had a lavender French toast and one other in our party had a breakfast sandwich that had too much mayonnaise on it.
My friend and I had brunch at House of Marigold, and everything about the experience was wonderful! I highly recommend making a reservation because they were extremely busy when we went, which definitely speaks to how popular this spot is. The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful and aesthetically charming, but the food and service were just as impressive. Everything we ordered was delicious! We especially loved the salmon dip, deviled eggs, truffle fries, and my salad my perfect. My friend also got a side of bacon and grits that she really enjoyed. For drinks, we both ordered the “Just Peachy” — Prosecco with peach purée — and it was light, refreshing, and so good for brunch. Even with how busy they were, the service was excellent and the atmosphere still felt enjoyable and welcoming. The only thing to note is that parking can be a little limited during peak hours, so you may need to park in one of the adjacent shopping area lots. Overall, I would absolutely come back to try more menu items, and I highly recommend House of Marigold to anyone looking for a great brunch spot in Louisville!
This was my first time here at the house of marigold and I did not disappoint. The mini cornbread with a butter was next level. We absolutely feasted and the gummy bear shots are definitely a must. We got the cornbread, shrimp and grits and a the fried chicken on a biscuit. Be prepared to spend some money but it's definitely worth it and one of the best brunch spots in Louisville.
